The city centre and V&A Waterfront are within easy reach and City tours can be arranged to all the famous landmarks. Visit the Two Oceans Aquarium in the Waterfront, shop until you drop, or take a trip to Robben Island to visit the prison where Nelson Mandela spent 27 years of his life.
Beaches and Climate

The Lodge is situated half way between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans only a few minutes drive from either the famous Atlantic Seaboard beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay or the False Bay beaches of Muizenberg, Fish Hoek and Boulders Beach, where penguins make their home. Hout Bay and Llundudno beaches are easy to reach just over Constantia Neck.

There are a number of challenging golf courses nearby for the golf enthusiast to enjoy. Westlake, Clovelly, Steenberg, Royal Cape and Mowbray are all within easy reach. Green bookings can be made from the lodge.
Rugby at Newlands

For sport enthusiasts Newlands Stadia host international games throughout the year. Newlands Rugby Stadium has hosted 13 South African Test Matches since unification in 1992, with 9 out of the 13 matches going in favour of South Africa. During the 1995 RWC, Newlands hosted two matches not involving South Africa.

Botanical Gardens

Kirstenbosch grows only indigenous South African plants. The estate covers 528 hectares and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest. The cultivated garden (36 hectares) displays collections of South African plants, particularly those from the winter rainfall region of the country and was founded in 1913.
